What was your motivation for joining the 90-Day Challenge?
My motivation for joining the Challenge was to help make running a more frequent habit, improve my cardio, continue to lose weight, and motivate others. I was a recovering work-a-holic that was temporarily imprisoned in an unhealthy lifestyle of working constantly, emotionally eating, and enjoying the extended comforts of my couch. Over-consumption, lack of a balanced diet, and lack of exercise led to me gaining nearly 50 pounds. This year I turned 40 years old and made health and fitness my priority. In doing so, I have committed to participating in 40 fitness events to include runs of varying distances, obstacle courses, and more. With this 40 for 40 fitness challenge, I plan to improve my fitness levels, lose weight, and encourage as many people along the way to make health and fitness a priority in their lives. Read More

“Before I joined the Challenge it was hard to move around, go up stairs and biking was really hard with all that extra weight. My relationship with my body wasn’t good; but I just wanted to give up. When I was stressed over things at work or in life, I’d eat. As I kept eating, my body kept growing and becoming less fit. It was an endless cycle. I felt like I couldn’t make any progress.Read More

“I have suffered on and off from occasional sadness and mood swings my entire life. My marriage ended after 2 years, yet the custody issues regarding our daughter went on for 10 more years didn’t help. This took a toll on my health and my career in more ways than I can count. I was out of control and had no motivation and no desire to change and was simply embarrassed of my weight. I needed my ‘Why’. And I found it after attending a team retreat. I want to be around to see my 14-year old daughter married someday.” And at the rate I was going, I wasn’t going to make it. Read More

“As a mother of 6, I gained weight with each pregnancy and struggled to lose the weight in between each pregnancy. I was tired and run down – with no hope. I also suffered numerous health issues that could fill an entire catalog not to mention the 17 major surgeries—one that left a 12 inch scar running up my rib cage. This made me feel unmotivated and unhappy with myself. It got to the point that I didn’t understand why my husband loved me – I often questioned; ‘how could he love me when I look like this?’ He would tell me I was beautiful but I saw myself as hideous. At just 29, my marriage seemed doomed and I worried that I wouldn’t live to watch my children grow or become a grandma.Read More
