In response to frustrating events people often say they can “feel their blood pressure rising,” but what does that mean? Blood pressure measures the force of blood flowing through blood vessels as part of the cardiovascular system. Proper blood flow regulation is important. The body needs blood to deliver oxygen and nutrients to cells throughout the body, while also removing cells’ metabolic waste.
