90-Day Fitness Challenge Winner
Brent Blain
Completed Ironman in 10:43!

1. What was your motivation for joining the 90-Day Challenge?
I completed the 30 Day Weight Loss and Fitness Challenge and just figured, why not go for the 90 day?! I was already signed up for an Ironman that fit right into this schedule and this was some much needed motivation to keep plugging away!

2. What was your 90-Day goal?
My goal was to complete this Ironman (which consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bicycle ride, 26.2 mile run, without breaks) in under 11 hours. My previous attempt in 2013 was over 14 hours.

Well, I ended up finishing the whole race at 10 hours and 43 minutes, so I was very happy. The rollercoaster of emotions is just crazy in an Ironman. I know that NeoLife was a big reason why I hit my goal that day! I beat my past ironman time by over 3 hours!

3. How did your Health Pack help you to achieve your goal?
The Breakfast Pack really helped out by keeping my weight steady. I LOST 10 lbs.† on the 30 Day Challenge. And then I was able to pretty easily keep that weight off while training for this Ironman. Losing a little weight with the Breakfast Pack makes a big difference on the bike, that helped big time! Another good thing about NeoLifeShake is the fact that they keep you feeling really ‘full’. So I wasn’t getting crazy hungry even with all this training I was doing.*

4. How has the Challenge positively impacted your life?
I won the 30 Day Fitness Challenge (trained for and completed a Half Ironman), so that was pretty cool to see the $1,000 come my way. But, aside from the financial boost, they just provide me with that little extra motivation to keep on doing what I know I need to be doing. Even though I (and most people) know what I need to do, the reality of actually doing it is a lot harder! So this is just that little extra voice in my head telling me I need to get out of bed or off the couch and get moving!

5. What is one tip you would give to someone new to the Challenge?
Figure out what motivates you and keep at it. Me personally, I love competition, that is what has kept me going in triathlons. Find something that motivates you enough to not hit that snooze in the morning, or sit down on the couch after work. The idea is not really rocket science, but actually getting out and doing it is a whole different story, so you have to have a great reason, otherwise it’s just too easy to put it off for that day/week/month/your whole life!
